Our tea bags and pouches are made from PLA, or polylactic acid, a plastic-like material made from corn, sugar cane and sugar beets. We use it in our tea bags and pouches. To celebrate this achievement, we give 40% discount on Rooibos Chai and Pure Rooibos.

Our Story
Established in 2016, Sunbird Rooibos is a wife and husband business - a former South African winemaker and a Finnish geographer - that combines a love of the Cape's natural places with a passion for fine flavours.
We want to sell our high quality products to Rooibos lovers locally and export the best rooibos teas to the world - all while creating jobs and opportunities in South Africa.
