Sunbird Rooibos is a new and innovative business based in Cape Town, focussing on sourcing, producing, and distributing premium Rooibos tea. To learn more about us, visit our website: www.sunbirdrooibos.com. We are looking to hire a dynamic and energetic Sales Representative and Marketing Assistant. The position will be based at Sunbird Rooibos office in Montague Gardens. Once trust is built, there is an opportunity to work from home.  Although there will be some marketing, the majority of the position will be sales focused.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Sales

• Maintain customer relationships and uphold brand integrity
• Identify, approach and engage with new customers to meet ambitious sales targets, with special focus on the hospitality market
• Dispatch deliveries via courier and in person
• Track invoicing and ensure payments
• Present tea tasting events
• Compile monthly sales reports

Marketing

• Assist Marketing Manager in building a marketing strategy and implementing it by planning content for the Sunbird Rooibos website and blog, and social media
• Research potential marketing opportunities (magazines, newspapers, radio & TV) and events, in SA and overseas
• Assist in creating promotional materials, including brochures when needed.

Qualifications, skills, and desired qualities

• Bachelor’s Degree, National Diploma or equivalent, further qualifications an advantage
• Two-years proven experience in sales or marketing or in the food/beverage or hospitality industry, a combination of these is a distinct advantage
• Driver's license and reliable, presentable vehicle
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel
• Interest in food, drink, flavour and sensory perception
• Interest in a healthy lifestyle and environmental issues
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written. Fluent in English with other languages an advantage
• Punctual, organised and with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and show initiative in problem solving
• Willingness to travel locally and nationally for overnight/week trips
